The image of nursing past and present in the media does affect the nursing profession. The thought of images of nursing past congers up images of Florence Nightingale or of Nuns who were in the nursing profession in my mind. Those people who sacrificed their entire lives to help others with no regard for themselves. I believe those images are what has given the nursing profession such an honorable reputation. According to the American Nursing Association (2016) the nursing profession has the most honest and ethical standards (2016) for 15 years in a row. Wow!
