While the soda can is being heated, the bunsen burner allows for a rise in temperature and the rise in temperature means that the gas particles move quickly and collide against a surface. These are collisions and when there are collisions, gas pressures are made and there is a phase change, by vaporization, from liquid to vapor. The hole on top of the can lets vapor escape. Then dynamic equilibrium makes the gas particles phase change by condensation, from a vapor to a liquid. There is equal gas pressure outside and inside. When the soda can is being dunked, the gas particles are trapped by the cold water and the cold water causes a drop in the rate, in which the gas particles move. The drop mean that there is less gas pressure in the can and
