Being young can have a generous affect on your views of the American Dream. Marquita Walker has been a family friend for many years. She is 30 years old and has found a love for Phlebotomy. When I asked her what the American Dream meant to her she responded, “ The American Dream means giving everyone a chance”. She believes that everyone deserve a chance to succeed in life. People have a lot to offer but in some cases they can't afford to show it. Making sure that people are treated the same and have equal rights took part in defining the American Dream to Marquita. My mom's response to my question of define the American Dream was very similar to Marquita’s response. She said that the American Dream meant to have the resources to pursue your dreams. My mother thinks that any American should have the opportunity to conquer whatever they feel is necessary. To her the American Dream means that everyone should have the chance to be successful.
