How Does Technology Affect Toddlers?

The advancements in technology brings many ideas to our fingertips; however, these advancements need restrictions from toddlers in order to allow them to focus more on their motor skills. Technology affects toddlers’ mental health causing them to focus more on one side of the brain than the other. Lucy Jo Palladino, psychologist and author of “Avoid Screens for Children Under 2 Years of Age” states that “at any age, when attention is captured by a screen, it activates the more primal sensory region” leading to underdevelopment of the prefrontal cortex.
