In the 1960s, when it came to studying distractions were uncommon. If anything, their friends’ requests to come out and play on the street was any child’s kryptonite to hurry and finish their school work. However, in today’s society children’s distractions come in many different forms and disguises. Technology has become a distraction during studies, rather than fulfilling its original purpose as an aid. In his report, Jim Taylor speaks of the first few effects that have impacted children since the invention of technology, “…the internet was invented and children were thrust into a vastly different environment in which, because distraction is the norm, consistent attention is impossible, imagination is unnecessary, and memory is inhibited.”
