I think Kino and Juana’s relationship is normal like a regular relationship because they help each other and treat each other like a normal relationship would. In Chapter 3, Juana said, “This thing is evil, she cried harshly. The pearl is like a sin! It will destroy us, and her voice rose shrilly. Throw it away, Kino. Let us break it between stones. If we compare this to a normal relationship, it shows that they treat each other like a normal relationship as husband and wife because Juana cares about Kino and Coyotito, so she want to get rid of it. Juana prefers to stay poor and continue their life like this because she prefer her family, then the pearl. Also, in chapter 3 Kino responded, “This is our one chance, he said. Our son must go to school. He must break out of the pot that hold us in.” This shows that Kino also care about the family and care about Coyotito’s education.
