I feel that Steinbeck did justify Lennie’s death. In the beginning of the book, Lennie and George are running from where they used to work because Lennie was accused of rape when we would not stop petting the girls red dress. Later, Lennie is petting a dead mouse, and we learn that he has killed many mice before too. Once they reach the new pace they will be working at, Lennie is drawn to pet everything. This leads to him killing the puppy that George had promised him.out of fear that he won't get to tend the rabbits any longer, he hides the puppy, and then Curleys wife comes to find Lennie, which scares him. They start talking, but Lennie keeps telling her she needs to go and George said not be around her. Soon Curleys wife starts talking
