How Does Steinback Present Lennie In Of Mice And Men

In the novel, Of Mice and Men, John Steinback develops two different characters. Readers meet both of the characters, George and Lennie, and learn they are opposites of eachother. The other characters know Lennie is not the brightest person around, and he makes some major mistakes. Steinback uses Lennie as a character with a learning and mental illness, to create scenes where other characters have to choose how to treat Lennie despite his actions. Throughout the story, some characters admit that Lennie means no harm, which why Lennie is still an innocent character who did not deserve the punishment he received.
