Napoleon started to manipulate the animals so he can get what he wants from them. In order to do this Napoleon uses Squealer as his persuasive speaker because he's been so convincing in the past that it was said that Squealer could “turn black into white!” (page 3). Since Napoleon wanted and the pigs and apples for himself. He uses Squealer to convince the animals to give all of the milk and apples to the pigs. This is what Squealer said (on page 35) to the animals when he was trying to trick them into thinking he dislikes the apples and that he's he is only eating them for the safety of the farm. “ I dislike them myself our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and Apples (this had been proven by science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers.” Squealer uses quotes from an expert to tap into the animal's logic. This is to get the animals thinking that if scientists say milk and apples are good then it must be true. On page 36 Squealer continues to use persuasive techniques when he asks rhetorical questions to get them to think morally about the pigs. “It is for your sake” he says “that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our duty? Jones would come back! Surely comrades.” Squealer wanted to draw out emotion out of the animals to scare them into giving up the milk and apples. However, this is not the only thing he does to manipulate the animals. He tries to make the animals feel bad by saying that the pigs are eating apples that they don't like all for the succession of the farm. Squealer also said that the Farmer Jones would come back. This was to threatening the animals to giving up the apples and milk out of fear. This is the first incident that showed

As Napoleon’s right hand man, Squealer enforces the idea that Napoleon’s power is above all and no other thoughts or ideas will be accepted. Squealer uses his manipulative language to trick the animals into believing Napoleon’s objectives. Squealer takes advantage of the sheep to help support Napoleon’s case. “The sheep spent the whole day [at the waste ground] browsing at the leaves under Squealer’s supervision…[Squealer] was, he said, teaching them to sing a new song, fro which privacy is needed” (88). He uses the sheep that cannot think for themselves to make Napoleon’s new changes seem more acceptable as they seem like they are already supporting it.…

Furthermore, Squealer’s use of “scientific reasoning” persuades the animals that “‘Milk and apples (this has been proven by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well being of a pig’” (35-36). Without the food, Squealer acts as if the farm would be unable to function at the heights it has the ability to run at and the quality of life for the animals would thoroughly decrease because the pigs would be unable to act in their best interest. In addition to persuasion, Squealer uses his techniques to raise Napoleon to leadership. Squealer is able to show the strength of Napoleon as a leader, “‘Our Leader, Comrade Napoleon,’ announced Squealer, speaking very slowly and firmly, ‘has stated categorically--categorically, comrade. .…

Along with Napoleon and the other pigs on the farm, he sent Boxer off to be slaughtered, for the luxury of enjoying a glass more of whiskey (Orwell 114 & 116). After Boxer poured every ounce of himself into the prosperity of the farm, Squealer knew he’d be an easy target to take advantage of for his own selfish gain. When someone whole-heartedly places their trust in something, he or she believes there is no fault within it, which as in Boxer’s case, can lead someone to ruins due to them becoming naïve. In addition to bringing Boxer to his death, Squealer must also be held accountable for deceiving the other farm animals by adjusting the commandments to fit his desires. First, he convinced the animals there was no rule that stated they couldn’t…

One of the ways they did this was with saying things like "Jones will come back". None of the animals on the farm ever liked Mr. Jones, so when they were convincing the animals that something was right and this way is the best way, they would use "surely, you don't want Jones to come back". The animal government also switched the Seven Commandments around, and then used propaganda to convince the animals that it was fine, with an element of fear. Since the pigs were the head of the farm and they made all the decisions, they "deserved" to have the extra milk and apples and sleep in beds. Without all those things, they would not be able to make the best decisions for the farm and the other animals, and the farm would fall apart.…

Throughout the allegorical, Animal Farm, the author’s use of particular characters to represent real life political figures is admirable. A debate could be started discussing the significance of a character and their contribution to the overall essence of the novel. But due to the level of engagement of Squealer, a character analysis of this character seems most suitable. Squealer, a pig, is the underdog, the messenger, and the public relations officer. This character, as portrayed by George Orwell, is seen repeatedly handling the relations between the animals without political authority and the “leader”, “the father of all animals”, Napoleon.…

Napoleon, who becomes the leader of Animal Farm, destroys the freedom and equality with his threatening, strategic ways and exploiting the situation the animals are in. Through creating fear within the animals Squealer was able to make the animals abide by what he was saying, creating a very unsettling and fearful atmosphere for the animals to live in this can be seen through the continuous repetition of this phrase "Surely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones come back" (Orwell, 23). This phrase allows Squealer to be able to quickly grasp the attention of the animals since this is the utmost worst scenario that the animals would want to be in. For this reason, whenever Squealer mentions this phrase the animals give into whatever Squealer is…
