They can create both positive and negative impacts with corresponding traits, but with an appropriate balance of each I believe that each experience with a social institution can be considered a positive one due to the ability to learn and better myself to create stronger bonds with other institutions present in my life in order to achieve the values that are important to me. Although each person handles every situation in a different way, it is important to see that messages sent out by mass media have a negative effect on many young girls in the same way it affected me causing it to be a societal issue. I believe that society should take it into their own hands and change the subliminal messages in order to give young girls confidence and make them feel good about themselves instead of tearing them down and making them feel worthless.
