How Does Slavery Cause Parents To Lose Their Children

Nobody really likes the topic of slavery. Slavery still happens today, but nobody notices or they do and just do say anything. Slavery isn’t a good thing, in fact it’s the total opposite it’s awful. What makes it worse is that they are using children.

It’s bad because it causes parents to lose their children because of lies told by slave owners. Sure the slave owners get free labor, but it isn’t fair to the children or the parents. They tell parents that their kids will have a better future, but in reality they are being taken to work for no pay.”Sometimes, parents are tricked into selling their own kids. Traffickers often promise that the children will get an education and earn money to send back home. But once the kids have left their villages, they're put to work in factories, mines, homes, fields, restaurants, hotels, and sometimes brothels”{Rebecca Zissou}. People can be so cruel taking children from their parents is not right and they should be punished, but “There are no accurate figures, partly because there is no clear definition of slavery, especially for children”{The …show more content…
But on the other side of it they are suffering internally and externally. These mental problems can be very harmful and depending on the physical scars it could be a lot more difficult to leave a normal life.

Parents are lied to in order to give up their children thinking they will have a better life, that child loses their childhood not ever getting to really act like a kid, after suffering like this these slave continue to suffer even after being freed because of the mental and physical scaring that follows them. Slavery is in no way fair to the kids or the parents or just the people in general. There should be more clear definitions of slavery because then there would be clear laws that could make it
