In Taming of the shrew Katherine changes mentally to alternate her perspective on individual such as Patruchio. Katherine in 10 Things I hate About You as well changes mentally to where she accepts Patricks love. Katherine in Taming of The Shrew you can first see change in Katherine when she gives up trying to quarreling. Katherine who is starving finally gets something to eat in (act 4 scene 1). She claims "the meat was well, please calm down" (Taming of The Shrew 4.1 98-105) while Patruchio jumps in to quickly state that it was burnt. Katherine sits in peace and does not jump up to demand his flawed statement. Patruchio is trying to “tame” Katherine from quarreling to starving her. She finally gives in and she begins to think more about the situation instead of jumping on someone as soon as she thinks they are wrong. Katherine first shows her development in the novel when she starts to use her manners rather than acting atrocious. (Taming of The Shrew 4.3 25-7) Katherine shows her fist signs of change during her “fun night” while playing paintball and games that bring out the best of Katherine. This scene from the movie also marks a milestone because it is her first kiss since the time she had her back turned on by another boy. Katherine and Patrick finally seem to trust each other after their kiss scene in the paintball park, but Katherine finds out that she has had a money deal going on her back between Joey and Patrick. Katherine feels back to square one no one to trust as if she is a cast away hoping for someone to come catch her out in her lonely sea. In Taming of The Shrew Katherine all of the sudden after being with Petruchio turns into a well-rounded woman that abides by her husbands rules. For a second we see the true personality of Katherine in 10 Things I Hate About You. She actually enjoys activities other than reading novels
