Prince Hamlet takes his mind to somewhere no one usually wanders to by saying, “o, most wicked speed, to post/ with such dexterity to incestuous sheets!” (Shakespeare 11). He claims that his mother was in such a rush to marry so that she could engage in intimacy with his uncle. For him to state that there is incest and that his mother has dexterity, proves a creepy element. It makes Hamlet seem possessive over his mother, that he would involve himself in thinking about her intimate relationship with her uncle. The reader can see the effects of an Oedipal complex occurring. The mood shifts from anger and feeling empathy toward Hamlet in his soliloquy, to feeling eerie as to Prince Hamlet’s obsession with his mother and her love
