During the piece, “Like The Sun”, the verbal action displayed is rather rude because of the brutal truths told by the protagonist. In fact, during the beginning of the story, Sekhar, the protagonist, makes the rather rude comment “It isn’t good. I’m unable to swallow” about his wife’s cooking. This situation would’ve been a perfect opportunity for constructive criticism, but instead he completely shut her down. Because of his words, his wife might not cook for him again and she might have less confident in herself. He then continues to tell the same brutal truths to other people he interacts with in the day. The most memorable on is when the headmaster asks if there was any reason for him to continue his singing lessons and Sekhar responds
