How Does Religion Affect Your Life

Improved Essays
“Religions control most of your life. Some people may build their own rules, but they descent too easily into a selfish scenario. Most religions classify themselves as clubs or between members and non-members. Non-members are sometimes called bad, or wicked” (Conspiracy and Religion). Religion is outrageous and so many people worship it when there is no proof to back it up or any real life person to be the leader. It is based off of faith and hope, no one can prove it, but yet the public still wants to follow it. Religion is just breaking our economy down and making it worse. Organized religion is a group that tries to persuade society to believe in an outrageous demand; it manipulates them and makes the people feel less worthy and unwanted, …show more content…
“A lot of people remain quite keen on religion, or even unbelievingly convinced there are benefits from its existence; they are not so happy with the hint or menace and control that come with the “Organization”. (Cosh Par. 1-2) This time, instead of a God, there is a fat guy that apparently is good luck and worshiped in that religion. Whoever gave that one fat guy all the credit and decided that he was way more important than everyone and wanted to worship him? They must have been on crack or drunk. As if he is real and gives them good luck. The only reason why so many people follow it, is because it’s to their benefit, they get good luck. Our society will do anything for their own benefit, so obviously this is also hurting our community and controlling the people. It feels as if they were brainwashed and made to believe in one specific religion. America itself is just breaking down from all this and starting a riot when none of this is necessary. Nowadays, religions are adding other rules and beliefs in their group, and making others think it is the right choice to …show more content…
Some lack these, so they get involved in unethical practices, cults, and other groups.” (Dr. John Juedes Paragraph 3-6). There are procedures that you have to meet and also some standards. There are some examples like: adultery, homosexual, behavior problems, and respecting others. Homosexual is a very vivid topic that is always being discussed in the Christianity religion. Supposedly, the bible says that a man should love a woman and a woman should love a man. Some gay couples want to be in a religion and want to worship their belief, but the members from that group don’t allow it. Isn’t it horrible when you live in America and you have your own freedom, and you want to just be happy, but then there are those people in your religion that make you feel worthless and unwanted? Gays and lesbians should be able to believe and be accepted in that certain religion. There are so many stories and news reports about riots and fights around the world with religion and gays. It’s sad to think that a person can shun and disrespect another because of who they classify themselves as. They think that everything in their religion is true, so they decide to corrupt society instead of making everyone happy and wanting peace in life. Most of the wars start because of religion, because others don’t believe in that, or that they think they are the right ones following the right

However, because some of the beliefs that come with Christianity, Christian’s are given a bad name. The media likes to slander Christian’s because they do not believe in same sex marriage or, in some rare cases, interracial marriages. However, not all of us think that if you get married to someone of a different race or of the same sex that you are going to hell. This is a very outdated way of thinking. Most of the time the basis of all the fighting and killing people have to hear is because of religion, whether it be rival groups or groups that have different views or beliefs. People in response would ask the question, “Why do people fight if it is over religion, when the main goal of religion is to bring people together?” People may not know that religion can be a useful weapon and can be transformed into teachings that do not go with the teachings of God. That is how terrorism starts, they will find young children who are looking for a chance at rebellion or people that are looking for a new start and they will pound into their heads that God wants them to kill and they believe…

These people who claim to be true followers of Christ might actually be wrong, but instead of accepting this, they build a wall of intolerance. “Instead of accepting another follower in the path to discovering the truth and service to God, these people push the individual way because he/she might be affecting their own ways of believing. This individual is altered to an outsider,” (Spong). This wall of intolerance rejects the very people, Christians are supposed to help. For instance the following: gays, transgenders, sinners, divorced couples, the rich and poor, non-believers, murders, etc.…

Discrimination in the workplace is an unfortunate scenario that many gay individuals have to tolerate on a daily basis just to maintain financial security. In addition, the abuse of religious freedom poses a detrimental problem to all minority groups in America. The possibility of prolonged exploitation of religious freedom could lead to years of continued suffrage among gay communities if not taken seriously. On top of these already severe issues is the controversy of samesex marriage. While it should not be an issue, certain religious groups have slandered the idea of samesex marriage calling it a sin.…

It is said in Romans 13:13 “Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immortality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealously”. This cause of judgement on Christianity affects many Christians to rebel against their beliefs to fit in with their peers. Meaning that some Christians will not drink around their friends in order to avoid judgement. Another cause of Christians rebelling against their beliefs, is due to many politicians and celebrity figureheads being Christians themselves. Because of this belief, many people are afraid to show their true religion for fear of being bullied or beat down. The religious ideal of the age is the idea to let “...one’s search/ for God to become public domain,” by letting “...church.com [to] become [everyone’s] church” (Alexie). All the social media posts about God only push away those religions that differ, making the believer of said religion an outsider. Teenagers are more susceptible to hiding what they believe in because they are at the tipping point when it is time to stop listening to parents and start thinking for themselves. However, the ability to freely practice whatever religion is hard when everyone else seems to disagree.…

We push our religion on others instead of talking about Jesus, and that is why people are scared of Christians. Take the Muslims for example they have a good view on Jesus but hate Christians. So many people call themselves Christians but tend to only use that word as some sort of crutch, and fail to realize it is more than just a religion, but it is a true relationship. We are to treat others like Jesus treats them. We are to accept them where they are and point them towards God.…

They continue to harass and prosecute religious groups and organizations simply because they are deemed an extremist group even though they are rather peaceful. The requirement to register a religion before being allowed to actively practice it is also an attack on religious freedom as it is always a hit or miss on whether or not the government clergy, which are all Sunni, decide to allow the religion to be practiced. The fact that a clergy of an accepted religion, Russian Orthodox, is stripped of his title because he simply was doing his job also goes into the religious prosecution. In 2014, however, a court in Osh City had acquitted two women of the Jehovah 's Witnesses belief on the grounds that they had been wrongfully prosecuted after being arrested for simply talking about their religion. The court had said that the women had been persecuted because of someone else 's prejudice.…
