How Does Rain Affect The Texas Rain System

Decent Essays
Right now, the system that is affecting Texas with rain is funneling moisture our way. That means the chance for showers will be around for the entire RTO for Friday-Sunday. Friday will be cooler than Thursday for eastern zones and warmer than Thursday for western zones. Philly’s high temperature will be in the mid-70s. The best chance for rain showers will be in the morning. On Saturday, the main system from Texas will move into western zones. Eastern zones could see some afternoon thunderstorms. The rain will cool western zones down, while eastern zones will be warmer with highs in the middle 80s. Sunday will be a washout for eastern zones as the rain from Texas gets here. Flashfloods can wreak havoc within seconds to hours after the onset of a storm. Due to the rapidly increasing water levels which flow with a devastating swiftness, flash floods can be deadly. When flash floods are compounded with an urban area in which much of the surface area is impermeable streets and buildings, runoff occurs rapidly because water is unable to sink into the ground. Additionally, mountainous areas are also very susceptible due to steep topography, which funnels water into canyons and gullies. If people or animals are caught in a low spot in a mountainous area it can be extremely dangerous.…
