Power is a relevant and one of the most important skill-related components of fitness to the performance of a javelin throw. Muscular power is the ability to combine strength and speed in an explosive action and this is shown in a javelin throw. There are two types of powers, speed-dominated power, which is power generated through a greater emphasis on speed and is essential in activities such as sprinting and throwing which javelin includes. As well as strength-dominated power, which is power generated through a greater emphasis on strength, this is important in the throw of a javelin. In the execution of the throw the arm is pulled rapidly forwards with maximum strength, so most of the strength for this action comes from the pectorals major and the triceps brachia, this means that power is important so that the thrower is able to deliver a well executed throw.
Co-ordination
Co-ordination is the other most important skill-related component of fitness, which relates to the performance of a javelin throw. Co-ordination is the ability to harmonise the messages from the …show more content…
Velocity may impact a javelin throw since the path that the flight of a javelin has both distance and incline/decline. Improving the velocity of javelins may include activities, which are used for speed since they also relate to velocity. Velocity can impact on the efficiency of movement in the performance of a javelin since it will find the calculations where the thrower has not moved in a straight line, the velocity is also important since there is an increase in the velocity when the thrower accelerates the run up of the throw, this is important since it is vital that the thrower has a solid run up so that there is an major increase in velocity and the throw and be executed properly and in the end the thrower has the greatest possible
