How Does Pneumonia Affect Bronchial Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lung and it is triggered by the person’s weak defense system. It can especially affect the elderly if it was triggered by a respiratory infection or influenza. Pneumonia can affect the lungs in different ways such as: Lobar pneumonia and bronchial pneumonia. Lobar affects a part of the lung, which bronchial affects parts of both the lungs. According to the American Lung Association, “Pneumonia and influenza together are ranked the eighth most cause of death in America. In 2006, 55,477 people died from pneumonia… Another way someone can be exposed to pneumonia is through inhalation of food, liquid, gas or air” (“American”).
