As I said before, it shows lack of dedication. When you plagiarize, you are looking for the easy way out instead using your brain to come up with a solution. That being said, people who plagiarize do not invest time into their work. Next time you think about cutting corners, just take a step back and think about it.
Plagiarism is cheating. There are many different ways someone can plagiarize and they are all ways of cheating. One could indirectly steal someone's ideas. Or they could be really lazy and full-out copy and paste from the internet, because stealing someone's ideas isn't enough. Either way, when something is plagiarized, it is not the writers own personal work.
The final effect of plagiarism is laziness. Would a hard working writer or student copy someone else's work? No!
