How Does Peru Increase Their Spending In Education

The number of students at private universities has doubled since 2012, and in public universities it has increased by 15 percent. This increase in private education shows that the more privileged students are gaining access to a higher education. As mentioned earlier, public university is not free; this in turn makes it harder for those without money to achieve higher education. This comes to no surprise since Peru has one of the highest income inequalities in the world, which only magnifies their educational problems. It appears that Peru has improved over the last decade, due to literacy and enrollment rates being up, as well as educational spending. However, if you look deeper into the quality and equal access of education, that is an entirely different story. Peru must increase their spending in education, but investment in education needs to also be done by effective policies, government organizations and other support systems that will help increase students to actually attend not just enroll. …show more content…
It is true to say that the French education system is one of the more successful to date, an example to the world. According to OECD, (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), France has an average education system compared to that of other developed countries. Education is compulsory starting from the ages of 6 to 16 years of age, similar to Peru. A large majority of children tend to begin school before the minimum age, as young as two years of age; and unlike Peru, France has a high success rate of ages 18-21 continuing school which is over 50 percent of their students continuing on or pursuing vocational school. I believe that they have better success in France because they allow their children to start school so young and they offer more for children at a young age and even after the age of sixteen compared to
