In Oedipus Rex, Oedipus tries to obtain forms of justice in the play. Oedipus, is shown as a determined character that seeks for answers for the fallen King and himself throughout the play, but his his determination to seek any form of justice and answers throughout the story only made him see the truth about what his actions were meant to lead up to. Oedipus did not realize that his actions would have a dramatic effect leading to the prophecy of killing his father, marrying his own mother, and bearing children with her, becoming true.
