As a hero and protector, Odysseus had to be obliged to be as understanding as he can be to face trials in his life. To begin with, Odysseus has showed his characteristic of being understanding when he first met Nausicaa. When he was washed ashore, Odysseus was awaken by somebody whom he didn’t know who and when he opened his eyes he saw Nausicaa who was attending to his needs. Odysseus feared her and asked who she was, where she replied that she was only helping him and then ordered their maidens to give him clothes and to feed him. After a long time of realization, Odysseus finally understood where he was, the island of the Phaeacians who helped him throughout his journey.
