Early in the George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm we see Jesse and Bluebell’s 9 puppies raised and trained to be attack dogs. These dogs were the forefront of Napoleons way of maintaining his power. Napoleon used these dogs to threaten anyone who attempted to disobey Napoleon. This is shown when the animals were shocked and surprised with Snowball’s expulsion, several of the animals would have protested but none of them could think of a supportive argument. The pigs however were the smarter animals on the farm and they started “Uttering shrill squeals of disapproval” until the dogs sitting around Napoleon “let out deep menacing growls” which forced the pigs to sit down in silence. The pigs who were trying to defend there fellow pig get silenced
