In everyone’s life, they have been wronged by someone. What does not happen in everyone’s life, is the moment where they get wronged so grievously, that they choose to kill over it. In “The Cask of Amontillado,” a framed short story by Edgar Allen Poe during carnival season where a man seeks revenge after his family’s honor is offended, in which a question is brought up about whether or not the narrator, Montresor, is exaggerating or making up reasons to justify his crime against Fortunato. The prospect that Montresor is making up or exaggerating reasons to justify his crime against Fortunato has some reason in it, but is incorrect. Small little insults that provide proof to this point of view is shown during the middle of the short story
