Fahrenheit 452 Essay Montag is a character in the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury that changes a whole lot by the end of this book. In the beginning Montag is a very average boring guy. He goes to work and comes home to his wife every day, and does the same thing over and over again. Montag is a fire-man who burns books for a living because the government did not want people to get any “ideas”
Montag changes when he meets Clarece, a 17 year old girl who happens to be his neighbor. Eventually Clarece get’s Montag to start realizing that he is not satisfied with his life, and his marriage. Then one day Montag steals books from a house that was called in to be burned, so then he slowly starts to have a great passion for reading books.
