Maya Angelou once said There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you. Maya Angelou an underprivileged woman to made a name for herself as writer,singer,dancer,playwright,and so much more. When Maya Angelou was a child she went thought a lot of hard times and she never let that stop her from what she had to achieve. Perseverance is going through a hard time and not letting that stop you. Perseverance is a quality that Maya Angelou demonstrated throughout her whole. This stutter prohibited him from calling his sister by her name she was born with so he called her "my". After reading a book on the Maya Indians he called her "Maya" and this is the name she continued to use. While living with her grandmother after her parents divorce Maya Angelou visited her mother in Chicago. While visiting her mother she was sexually molested by her mother's boyfriend too scared to tell anyone she told her brother. After telling her brother about what happened she later heard that one of her uncles killed her mother's boyfriend. Thinking her words killed her attacker she did not speak for five years.
