In the play, Macduff shows a great deal of grief. First off, it is known that Macduff is downhearted over his family's death. This is recognized when Macduff says “I cannot but remember such things that were, that were most precious to me”(Shakespeare 4.3). 222-223. Furthermore, his hatred was also influenced and inflicted by other people to make it worse. An example of this is when Malcolm tells Macduff to turn his grief into anger, and use that to get revenge on Macbeth. This shows not only why Macduff wants to kill Macbeth, but also why it's not unreasonable for him to want to consider the fact that Malcolm recommends the same thing.
