Loyalty is not inertia. A customer may be shopping at a store for a long time but if another company were to give better deals, then the customer would go shop there instead. Loyalty can also be commonly mistaken for commitment. A commitment may be a promise to someone or something, just like loyalty. However, loyalty is a deeper meaning of commitment because it is to be faithful to one’s promise while commitment is just to “stick” to a promise, willingly or not. Loyalty may have a simple meaning to it, but it can be easily misinterpreted.

A mother’s loyalty to her child. A friend sticking to one’s side for 9 years. America’s and France’s loyalty to each other. The loyalty of people to their country. A person’s loyalty to their religion. Once you think about it, you will realize how significant of a role loyalty can
