Are humans aware of the important role of more than one hundred thousands of genes that we have? I would say not all of us have. This question is not often ask unless we form part of a science club or have careers that are associated with biology, as a college student and future professional woman I do think it is important to ask this type of questions and to know the answer. People always tend to ignore the scientific side of the how our personality, behavior, temperament and experience seeking, among others things are affected by our genes. According to Dear Hamer and Peter Copeland the authors of Living with Our Genes: Why They Matter More Than You Think, genes affect all aspects our life. The authors give us a more clear understanding on how human genetics is linked with our daily life and how we have the ability to manipulate and use our genetics for our own benefits in the future.

The development of science would allow humans in the future to use genes for diagnosis and medical treatment. In the future we will have the opportunity to prevent and checked diseases based on our genes and we would be able to have therapy sections for mental illness and other brain diseases that would be directly treated based on the research done about the genetics of the illness. Definitely the control of our genetics would allow human to select their future breeding. People always have been selective about their relationships and how they want to look like, but in the future humans could be able to control how they would like their future baby to look
