The purpose of this essay is to analyse how individual differences in personality affect team dynamics. This essay shall focus on the Five Factor Model of Personality, and will look at the involved factors in depth. It will through research try and provide an explanation as to how the different personalities are able to get along or how they hinder the team environment.
For the purpose of this essay, the main personality traits that will be focussed on are extraverts versus introverts. They are found in all situations and are in the opinion of the author, a very diverse group of people, ranging from full extraverts / introverts to people that have a little of each within them.

Openness having characteristics such as imagination and insight and that people that score high with this trait have a broad range of interests. People that score highly with the neuroticism trait can be emotional instable, suffer from anxiety, moodiness, irritable and sad.
Extraverts are people that are excitable, sociable, talkative, assertive and express themselves emotionally. The opposite to this trait is an introvert. These are people that prefer to work alone, are less assertive, are not as social, do not express themselves emotionally, they are reserved and prefer to stay at home rather than attend a social function.
How do these different personality traits work with each other within a team environment? As with any situation there are always differences in personality.
