Identity, the qualities, believe, personality, looks, and expression that makes a person. Identity isn't entirely shaped by one’s culture, heritage, and community,but identify flows like fluid, and able to change by the individual at will. Identity can't change because of many circumstances like: a groupe of people influencing one person to act like them, wanting a better life, or moving to a different state or country. If you couldn't change your identity social Darwinism would still exist.

Nina had a very poor family but she “ got every scholar, save every dollar, the first to go0 to college.”(Manuel-Miranda). Not attending college was part of her community's identity, but Nina desire a better life, so she worked hard to go to college. Nina was able to change her identity for the better by working hard.
Another circumstance where a person would have to change your identity is when a person moves to a new country.Would a person's identity change if they lived in Jamaica for the first 15 years of their life, and had to move to the United States Of America? Yes, the person's identity would have to change, so the person will be able to fit in with society. If the person doesn't change their identity, the person wouldn't achieve success and wouldn't survive in his new environment.
