How Does Height Affect Volleyball

I’ve played volleyball for 6 years now and throughout the years, many people have looked at my height in a negative way. People have told me I can’t play volleyball in college because I’m a child of below average height, this was basically saying that I can’t do what I’ve always dreamed of doing. I got extremely discouraged because of the things people were saying. I’m 16 years old and 5 feet tall. I won’t be growing anymore and my height seems to always have a toll on me. I can’t reach the top shelf, I can’t walk as fast as others, and many believe that I can’t play volleyball. But, I did some research on how height affects volleyball. I soon found out that there have been many professional volleyball players that are 5’2” and below.
