How Does Hazel Change The World

This book is about the love story of two teenagers, Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters but the problem is that Hazel has cancer on her lungs and Gus had cancer on his leg and as a result on the fight against cancer he lost that leg. The book starts when Hazel's mum decided that Hazel was depressed so she took her to the doctor who decided that she needed to go to a support group and one day on that support group she meets Augustus Waters (chapter one), they start hanging out and talking about the things they like, one of the things that Hazel likes is a book, the book is: an imperial affliction, witch is about a girl called Anna with cancer, since it is Hazel's favorite book Gus decide to reed it but only if Hazel reeds a price of down …show more content…
My favorite parts are: the first day on the support group, when they talk about oblivion (pages 12 and 13) what I like is how Gus says something that pretty much everybody thinks, that he want to be remembered, but Hazel says that oblivion is inevitable and that in some way changed the way I saw the world, you don't have to be remembered because there would be a time we're all humans are dead and there won't be anybody left to remember. I also like when Gus finds Peter's assistant (page 64) because it proves how much he cares about Hazel. One of my favorite parts is when Isaac (Hazel's and Gus's friend from support group) breaks up with his girlfriend, so they are in Gus's house and Isaac is all crushed and crying and what I like is how the solve this problem, instead of talking which him and trie to cheer him up they just let he cry and play video games "pain demands to be felt" (page 57). I also liked when Hazel and her dad are having a discussion about why are breakfast foods only for breakfast, and I liked it because is a really stupid discussion and at the same time it has a lot of truth on it but what I like most is how her dad finishes this stupid discussion, he says "you've gotta pick your battles in this world" I totally agree, and I love how the author uses a stupid discussion such breakfast food for introducing such a great quote. An other part that I like is when they are on this point of the relationship where Hazel doesn't really want to be her boyfriend because she knows she is gonna die, and there is a two things that Gus says to convince her that I love because it shows how much he cares, those things are: "I'm in love with you, and I'm not on the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things, I'm in love with you and I know that love is a shout on the void, and that

Bringing down the house is a non fiction novel by Ben Mezrich that tells the story of 6 M.I.T students who organized a card counting team which started their Las Vegas legacy. While explaining the adventure he successfully summarizes the life of Kevin Lewis with his various uses of imagery, descriptive diction, and ability to clearly establish his writing style. Therefore Mezrich expressed his purpose and reason for writing the bestseller. My personal favorite portion of the book was the very beginning, I felt as though the intensity of this section is what pulled me into the novel and forced me to keep reading.…

“The Things They Carried” was about parts of Tim O’Brien’s life. It holds details about his life leading up to the war, during the war and after war. In the book he tells about one very important story in particular, in my opinion. The first happens before the war, after he got drafted into the war he got up enough courage to run away and move to Canada. He was on his way to Canada, stopped, and found a motel that this wise old man owned.…

The title of the book is “The Other Wes Moore” that was written by Wes Moore, and the major subject of the book is that two boys with the same name has different fates. Throughout the ECR I will refer to the incarcerated Wes as The Other Wes and the author Wes as Wes Moore. The Other Wes was a product of his environment because of where he was raised and because of the people he looked up to. Wes Moor was different from The Other Wes because he grew up living off of people’s expectations of him. The purpose of the book is to show that life is what you make it, it’s up to you if you want to be successful or a drug dealer.…
