Because of his infatuation with soft objects he takes a peculiar interest in Curley's wife, because of this interest he unknowingly kills her causing more problems with Curley. As a result of killing Curley's wife George kills Lennie as an act of mercy killing. I, personally, don’t think George was justified in killing Lennie, but some of the evidence from the text proves otherwise. Most people saw Lennie as a child and not a grown man, which is understandable, and that may be one reason why George wanted to get rid of him. Many times he was called a child or people would say he acted like one. For example, when Lennie brought the puppy in the bunkhouse and George made him take it back, Slim said, “He’s jes’ like a kid, ain’t he.” Lennie was constantly in trouble which made it hard for George to keep a job for long.…

George made the right decision by shooting Lennie Because. George did not want Lennie to suffer for what curly had in store for him so think of Lennie death as a mercy kill fast and less suffering also if George wouldn't have shot Lennie he could get tortured in many different ways. But most people say that George and Lennie should have run away instead of killing Lennie. My first reason that George should have taken Lennie life is that first of all. If Lennie had tried to escape with George both of the men would be considered wanted so it would be hard to have any type of job or place to live because their reputation would be murderers, But George thought that running away would be a bad idea so he did not want Lennie to deal with all this so he took his life.…

If George would of let Lennie go someone else would have killed him. For example, Curly could’ve killed Lennie because Lennie killed Curley’s wife. Lennie was a large man that could kill anything if he wanted to. He crushed Curley's hand because Curley started hitting him and George told him to fight back. It’s sad that Lennie does not realize how big of a threat he is to people and how he never means no harm to…

This is a contrast and contradiction as you would expect George to try and help Lennie escape but instead decides to shoot him. I think this is kindness because George shoots Lennie in the back of the head which causes him no pain. The other guys probably would have caused him great pain as Curley said he was going to shoot him in the guts. This was hard for George but it was better for Lennie since he didn’t have to go through the pain and torture given by…

One question that could be asked at this point is why George stayed with Lennie even though he continued to ruin every good situation that they are faced with. The answer is simple, George needs to have someone with him, he needs a friend. But, as the story continues on, it becomes clear that with Lennie at his side, George will never reach his goals. Further, the novella begins to reveal that Lennie is not truly capable of surviving in their world and, much like Candy’s dog who is euthanized when it becomes clear that he will not live happily in the world around him, Lennie is put down after accidentally killing Curley’s wife (Hickey). Even though Lennie’s death thwarts any…

From the quotes, Curley was furious that his wife died and he knows that it was Lennie did this so he really wants to kill him by himself and shot him in the guts but George told him not to shoot him because he does not know what was he doing because Lennie was dumb. George should have killed Lennie in the story “Of Mice and Men” because from the story the character “Lennie” was a troublemaker for George. He always brought troubles to George and he also has some problems with his mind so that made him act like a kid, always do thing after George and if Lennie is still alive he might hurt more people, even though they were best friend and George should not have killed Lennie because of that but someone else will kill him…
