How Does Genetics Affect My Life

My genetics have affected me in many important ways because it makes me the person i am today. Im thankful for my genetics that i got from my amazing parents because without them, i wouldn’t be the person made today. Having genetics is a way to tell you who are and who you’ve came from.

Pedigree is a great way to see how your family is connected and how far back your family can go and who you are related to. Anyone can do a pedigree if they know about their family members history. Pedigrees are mostly used in families to find out the probability of a child having a sickness or disorder in a particular family. Another use of the pedigrees is to see whether the disorder is dominant or recessive.

Heredity is the passing of genes from one generation to the next. It is what that determines what and who you are today. Heredity is carried from parents to their children and will affect the health and physical characteristics of that child. Most cells in human body have twenty three pairs of chromosomes, making it a total of 46 but, individual sperm and egg cells have only twenty three unpaired chromosomes. A child receives half of chromosomes from mother’s egg and half from the father’s sperm cell. A male child receives an X chromosome from his mother and a Y chromosome from his father and a female gets an X chromosome from each parent.

You can use genome sequencing to figure out the order of DNA nucleotides, or bases, in a genome. Genome composition is used to describe the makeup of a haploid genome, which it should include genome size, proportions of nonrepetitive DNA and RDNA in the details. By comparing the genome compositions between genomes, scientists can then better understand the evolutionary history of a given genome to a human
