How Does Evil Exist In Our World

Since the beginning of time, many evil things have occurred on this earth; however, many good things have also happened. Does the good done outweigh the evil? It is hard to say. There have been a lot of extreme evils in our past, such as: slavery, the holocaust, and the Catholic Church is not void of evil, as is the case of The Crusades. The list is incessant. Considering all of these evils and many more, is it safe to say that pure evil exists in our world? Evil is displayed almost every day of our lives. How often do we hear about murder in the news, or about a terrorist attack or new war? Most of the time, it is too often. The media is filled with the negative actions of other people. Can anyone who considers themselves to be moral argue on the side of Hitler and his followers? Can anyone justify anything that he did? I would sure hope not. An entire culture of people were forced to suffer at the expense of the beliefs of one man. A cruel, heartless man who believed he was doing the right thing by starving and committing genocide. How can someone do something so horrific to another being on this earth, to a fellow member of the human race? Think about the framework for moral decision making. What good came from the Holocaust?
