How Does Drunk Driving Affect People's Lives

Drunk driving affects and impacts the lives of many people. Not only those that are hurt from drunk drivers, but the drunk driver also is greatly impacted. Drunk driving is very serious and people don’t realize how dangerous it is until it happens. It is a traumatizing experience that no one would ever want to be involved in. There are events and stories that can help us realize how live are impacted by drunk driving.

In the video “Lives Affected” there is a story told by Michelle. Michelle had a fiance named Chris who was killed in a drunk driving accident. They were driving home at 1 in the morning and were hit. The drunk driver had gotten onto the wrong side of the road and hit them head on. Michelle described the accident as a horror movie. She was taken to the hospital and discovered that Chris was killed. Her story shows how lives had been affected and impacted. Her husband had lost his life and she was affected because her whole life changed. That day she lost the love of her life all because someone choose to drink and drive. It wasn’t fair for Chris when he was innocent. Michelle’s life is not forever changed and not by choice.

In the same video “Lives Affected” it tells about Robert who was 17 when he lost his life. Robert wasn’t hit by a drunk driver, but was in the car with one. Robert, his father, said that his birthday isn’t a birthday anymore after that day. It is another day without hearing his son or seeing him. His family explains how so many things won’t be the same. Robert’s family was greatly affected and impacted. They don’t want anyone to experience what they had to and advise others to not allow friends to drive drunk. They say to take their keys or do whatever you can. You never know what lives you are
