With this being election year, I found a website article from the Daily News about how a politician used statistics inaccurately. In November 2015, GOP front-runner Donald Trump tweeted inaccurate crime statistics from 2014 with percentages of murders between blacks and whites. The image was supposedly from “Crime Statistics Bureau – San Francisco and titled “USA Crime Statistics -2015 showing a dark-skinned man holding a gun with a bandana and face mask.
**The image stated Blacks killed by police was 1%, Blacks killed by whites was 2%, Whites killed by police was 3%, Whites killed by whites was 16%, whites killed by blacks was 81%, and blacks killed by blacks was 97%. Trump’s controversial tweet of incorrect numbers came a day after a “Black
