In other words, even though illegal immigrants increased, in the same timespan violence had decreased and not the other way around. Despite the stereotypical claims that most illegal immigrants bring in drugs, Bersani is quoted saying, “"Foreign-born individuals exhibit remarkably low levels of involvement in crime across their life course”(Bump). From what is stated, it’s to assume that not only illegal immigrants don’t get involved in criminal activities such as drug trafficking, but many other immigrants don’t get involved as well. Trump is only causing alarm if most of these people aren’t involved in criminal activities such as drug dealing to begin
