People of Cyprus anxiously wait the new governor, Otello from a battle with the Turks. Otello arrives and tell them that the Turkish fleet has been destroyed. People cheer for the victory besides Venetian Roderigo. Roderigo has fallen in love with Otello’s new life, Desdemona when Otello goes to fight with the Turks. Otello’s ensign Iago promises to help Roderigo to take her. While people celebrating for Otello, Iago starts his plan to ruin Otello. He makes Cassio to drink when Iago salutes Desdemona., and then Iago provokes him to fight with Roderigo. Otello appears and mad about their behavior. When Otello realizes Desdemona has also been disrupted by their behavior, Otello dismisses everyone, and Otello and Desdemona confirm their love. Iago promotes Cassio to speak to Desdemona about his reinstatement. When Desdemona comes out to the garden with Emilia, Iago’s wife, Iago pushes Cassio to go out and speak to Desdemona. Iago hopes that Otello sees them together. When Otello appears in the room, Iago mutters himself. Otello asks what he means, but Iago says it was nothing. Otello thinks Iago sees Cassio running away from Desdemona; however, Iago says that Cassio would not run away like that. Iago asks him whether Otello trusts …show more content…
Desdemona talks about how her mother’s servant Barbara was abandoned by her lover. After Emilia leaves, Desdemona falls asleep. Otello enters to her room with a sword. He kisses his wife three times, and she wakes up. Otello tells her he will kill her tonight because she loves Cassio. Desdemona denies that and asks him Cassio will testify her innocence. Otello replies back to her that Cassio is already dead. Desdemona is horrified and protests her innocence, but Otello tells her it is too late. Otello kills her. Later, when Iago’s plot finally reveals, Otello realizes what he has done. He stabs himself, and he goes next to his wife. He then give a last kiss to
