According to the Constitution, our Senators were originally elected from the legislators while the other representatives the House were voted directly from the citizen. With such the system which obstructs the rights of people to choose the leader they want, democracy was not carried out. Since the creation of the 17th amendment, Senators now are voted by the citizens of the United States. Because the people have the rights to choose their own leader, the campaign period before election become very interesting. To get the popularity of the people and people’s favor to vote for one individual politician, politicians now send a lot of effort in campaigns, especially presidency election. Many president candidates such as Lincoln and Kennedy in order to get people supports, they promised a lot of things that they would accomplish during their term in office. Seventeenth Amendment has impacted significantly in the good way in imperfect democracy in the U.S.
