How Does Charlie Get Smarter In Flowers For Algernon

I’m finally smart now! The topic I am writing about is about about a man who is not a smart. The story is called “Flowers for Algernon”. The author of the story is Daniel Keyes. The man's name is Charlie Gordon and since he is not very smart two doctors are gonna do an experiment and an operation on him to make him smarter. They are using a mouse named Algernon to compare him to in the experiment. My opinion is that he should not have got the operation because it kinda backfires.

One reason I think that Charlie should not have got the operation done is because he loses all of his friends. When he is dumb there are two guys that he thinks are his friends. There names are Joe carp and Frank Reilly. They both work with Charlie at a factory. But they invite him to some parties and they would get him drunk and make him do things that they thought was funny and he didn’t know that they would be laughing at him. When he was starting getting smarter no one wanted to be around him because he was different and no one wanted him like that. So everyone at his job said they wanted him to quit besides one person. So he lost his friends while he was getting smarter.

Throughout the story he says that he is beginning to like her more and more. He says that when he’s getting smarter she starts to seem more intelligent and more beautiful to him than she did before. When Charlie starts getting smarter him and Miss Kinnian start getting closer and closer together. But when he gets really smart he starts to change to her. It’s like he’s almost too smart for her. They go out on a date and Miss Kinnian wants to talk about some normal things but Charlie says he doesn’t want to talk about the operation. He starts talking about a lot of smart stuff that Miss Kinnian doesn’t understand. When she just laughs at him he gets angry at
