In the book Wonder, Auggie attends a school called Beecher Prep. I believe it affected his life in a positive way. The reason I think this is because he doesn’t care about what other people think about him. Other people think that he was affected by Beecher Prep because he pretty much gets made fun of all the time. I can see why people say this… but at the same time he got more positive impacts than negative impacts. You must learn to cope with change. If you don’t, life will have even more challenges than it already has. August Pullman is a boy with a deformed face but a positive attitude. Therefore, Auggie will have to adapt to change. Throughout the story, change continues to affect the life of Auggie. For example, on page 120, one of Auggie’s friends finds out about the plague. “Apparently this is a “game” that’s been going on since the beginning of the year. Anyone who accidently touches Auggie has only 30 seconds to wash their hands or find sanitizer before they catch the plague.” This proves that Auggie must realize some people will always “judge a book by the cover.” In other words, some of his classmates will never be able to look past his

To understand how and why our identities form, it is imperative to note the roots of a person’s existence. From the start of the novel, The Catcher in the Rye, Holden assumes the role of a misanthropic narrator who criticizes his peers and superiors as “phony.” However, his evident distrust towards the human race and the world stems from his unfortunate childhood and his surrounding environment.…
