O.Henry and Bradstreet use their characters thoughts to express love as a strong and powerful feeling in different ways. In the story “ The Gift of the Magi” by O.Henry, says “ Suddenly she whirled from the window and stood before the glass. Her eyes were shining brilliantly, but her face had lost its color within twenty seconds. I sold the watch to get the money to buy your combs..” This paragraph shows the reader how the characters learns that all they need is each other. In the poem “ To My Dear and Loving Husband” it says in 5-6 that “ I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold or all the riches that the East doth hold.” These lines show the reader how the poet values her husband’s love more than all the gold in the world. In conclusion, O.Henry uses his characters language choices to express how love is between two people and their choices, while Bradstreet uses her characters language choices to express how gold is worth more than all the gold in the entire
