How Does Benvolio Show Honesty In Romeo And Juliet

Honesty is the Best Quality Benvolio displays honesty throughout Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. For example, when Prince Escalus asks Benvolio what happened during the fight between Montague servingmen and Gregory and Samson (along with Tybalt), Benvolio shows his morality. He gives a complete and truthful answer to the prince. He states, “Here were the servants of your adversary,/ And yours, close fighting ere I did approach./ I drew to part them” (1.1.106-108). Benvolio could have lied to the prince, which would have helped his fellow Montagues, but he does not. He chooses truth over defending his friends, which proves his strong quality of honesty.
