How Does Anneke Make Good Decisions

During World War II there was the darkest and miserable era called the Holocaust. One of the characters Anneke, a 14-year-old girl is willing to do what it takes to survive in the holocaust with her family. She is a hard-working girl that cooks and cleans for the Nazis. Anneke has been through a lot throughout the story, watching people die losing her love ones such as her best friend named Hannelore and her Lover´s kiss Franticek.Anneke had many tough choices to go through in the book but she was very wise in what choices was wrong and right.
The first choice that Anneke was a poor decision. Critics may argue that she made a good decision of not telling others what the Nazis are doing to the Jews. However, that's not the case she should stand up for herself and others and not keep it to herself before it's too late. Many people feel that Anneke decision was poor nevertheless, what's important is her trust. The text stated that “Neither of us says a word as Franticek walks me back to Jagergasse. I’ve wrung out the laundry as best I can, and Franticek is carrying some of it. The leather strip feels good against my neck. I’ll never take it off. Never.” She made a good choice to not take off the necklace because ever since Anneke and her crush Franticek kissed towards the ending of the chapter Fran gave her his leather necklace so she would promise not to forget him and to not remove the necklace. Sadly, it was his last day at transport so he got murder when he was put into a concentration camp. Anneke’s father gave her necklace to wear for this event so she loosened the necklace instead removing it because she remembered the promise she made with Fran before he died.
