This is a quote from Anne and Peter while they were talking in Peter's room. It shows that later in the book she calms down and Peter notices this and tells her. Throughout the time in the annex, Anne's personality changed a lot. She became nicer and more mature. Anne's parents would always tell her to be nice and use good manner, this made her more mature and nice. The other characters noticed this so they became nicer to Anne. Peter notices and starts talking to Anne and they became good friends. After the war, her dad went back to the hiding place and found her diary.
