Adeline is like a broken toy, forgotten and not loved. The novel Chinese Cinderella explains how a young girl fights through her heartbreak and suffer. Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah tells a story about a young Chinese girl who has a depressing life, and her siblings accusing her of killing there mother. Her grandmother dies of a massive stroke, and her mean step-mother slaps her and physically abuses her throughtout the entire book. Also, her first pet is brutally murdered by her father's dog's obedience training. How is Adeline going to manage a loss in her family? Nai Nai was the grandmother and she dies of a stroke; she was very close to Adeline. Adeline was trying to comfort Aunt Baba (19). Aunt Baba told me " Nai Nai's life evaporated in a spring dream." To shows how much Adeline adores Nai Nai. Adeline was trying to comfort everything remain so much the same with Nai Nai not here” (20). " I watched and believed the smoke curl up form sacrifical urn and believed with all my heart that it would regroup somewher into the household untieles for the exclusive use for Nai Nai in heaven. P.L.T was given to Adeline by Mrs. And Mr. Haung. This was Adeline's first pet (73). P.L.T.,precious little treasure, was very special to Adleine, because it was her very first pet. It is special, because for once something good happens to Adleine. She has something to call her own. Big Brother suggests they use a duck to test Jackie's, father's dog, obedience ( 83). Big brother chooses Adeline's duck, P.L.T, instead of any of other siblings' duck . Just when life was going good for Adeline this had to happen, and take away the only pet she had.
