How Does Abortion Affect The Brain

Abortion is a highly debated topic in the United States ever since dealers sold substances promising to end the pregnancies as early as 1820. The first laws against abortion gave the mother a felony or a misdemeanor and it wasn't until 1973 when the supreme court made laws that forbid abortion unconstitutional. The court also since then has established that States cannot make laws against abortion during the first trimester of pregnancy, but could make regulations related to women’s health in the second trimester, and that states could make abortions illegal in the third trimester except when necessary to save the life of the mother. Ever since then states have made laws prohibiting abortion for one reason or another. One common place for a specific week of abortion is 20 weeks. In fact a because a baby is just developing it’s brain when the abortion is happening the pain can cause even more pain that it would if it was happening to a full grown person. This is because the brain does not understand what exactly the sensation is, it know that it is painful but it does not know what part of the brain it appeals to so it ends in an overload of parts of the brain causing mass chaos and confusion. A study done on babies shows us that a light poke to a baby registers in the brain just as much as hard poke. Despite the pain felt by a 20 week old unborn baby some states still have no bans on 3rd trimester babies, where the baby can survive out of the womb. Abortion although a conservative topic I think that it is clear that if it must be done it must be done in the most humane way possible, and our current methods do not suffice especially past 20 weeks when they feel the full force of the abortion.
