How Does A Failure Affect My Approach To Training

Decent Essays
Failure had a major effect on my approach to training but also my approach to academics. More motivated than ever to excel I devoted endless hours to my academics and my lacrosse training. Even when I do everything possible to succeed, it is still possible to fail. Since this experience dealing with failure has become much easier even though I strive not to fail. This situation has helped me deal with many school failures, such as my end of the quarter test. Similar to my slump, my last quarter of Government was not showing the type of student I am, and there was one last shot to get the grade up. I know that failing that test didn't mean I wasn't smart, but instead, it wasn’t my day as luck wasn’t on my side.…

When I am not in school, and not with my friends, I am definitely doing something lacrosse oriented. Even before I began playing lacrosse, I was told by my bestfriend that lacrosse was referred to as “the creator’s game” by his coach. The first time I set foot on a lacrosse field was in 4th grade, and it is just as hard to take that foot off the field now, as it was the first day. My burning passion for the game only grows stronger the more I play.…

Failure can be our greatest teacher. It teaches us skills and knowledge which cannot be learned in a classroom - skills and knowledge that are not only necessary to thrive in college, but also essential to flourish our characteristics needed to become successful in life. Specifically, the most important attributes failure can teach us are determination, patience, and resilience - qualities that are vital in keeping up with the rigor of college. As stated by Perez in his article, “The lessons of failure can’t be taught in a classroom; they are experienced and reflected upon.” This means that the lessons we learn from failure are not just ordinary knowledge which we can get from anywhere else; they come within ourselves.…

Personal Narrative Why is failure the best teacher? I am going to answer this question using personal stories as examples. Failure is the best teacher because no matter what it changes a person, if someone fails and gives up it shows them that they didn’t really want to succeed badly in the first place, if someone fails and uses their failures to then succeed than they learned what it took to make their endeavour go right. We learn from failure by deciding how we are going to react to it and depending on that reaction, it can be a large change, or a small change.…

Failure is not unusual but having the courage to get back up and fight for what I believe in is indeed unusual.
